2nd Cut Project :: Smartwool

Assets :: We crafted a new creative approach to introduce Smartwool’s Second Cut Fleece—a truly unique product made from 75% upcycled materials.
By collecting production scraps from Smartwool’s category-leading Classic Thermal Merino Base Layers, we transformed waste into our best fleece yet, diverting 350,000 pounds of premium material from landfills. The challenge was telling this sustainability story in a way that could transcend language barriers for a global audience while clearly showing how the product is made.
We chose 3D animation for its creative flexibility and ability to visualize the transformation process in a clear, compelling way. The result is an engaging, scroll-stopping film that brings the material story to life and reinforces Smartwool’s position as a leader in sustainable apparel design.
